Role: Senior Business Consultant / Project Manager

Location: Glasgow, Scotland

Start Date: ASAP

Hours: Permanent Full-time

Compensation: £40k - £55k (DOE)

Criteria:

  • Right to work in the UK and ability to obtain security clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in a STEM subject (alternative equivalent experience may be considered but must be clearly evidenced).
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a consulting or project management role.
  • Demonstrable experience in the Space, Quantum and/or Defence sectors.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally.
  • Ideally, experience leading a small team.
  • Ideally, a full UK driving licence.

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Business Consultant / Project Manager to join our team. Your primary role will be to lead projects and a small team in close coordination with Exotopic’s customers to deliver impactful projects with maximum quality and efficiency within a high tempo environment. This role requires a proven performer, who is willing to take responsibility for securing and delivering projects to high professional standards. You must be an extremely strong communicator, organised and resilient to be successful in this role. You will often be working with significant levels of technical information and knowledgeable individuals, and therefore your ability to rapidly learn and manage complex information is critical. You must be able to hit the ground running with existing knowledge of the Space, Quantum and/or Defence sectors.

You will be leading projects across space, quantum and defence sectors, from business acceleration and investment to technical analysis, R&D and operations. You must be willing to deliver, as well as lead, across a broad range of tasks. You must be able to work both autonomously for extended periods and with a high-performance team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and high-performance teams.
  • Produce a range of content and deliverables from communications pieces to technical reports.
  • Devise and manage events and workshops.
  • Provide guidance and support to other staff, including potential line management responsibilities.
  • Support the wider team and organisation to maintain and improve Exotopic operations.
  • Progress as a sector leader, delivering presentations and speaking at events and conferences.
  • Track progress across multiple projects and report to the Exotopic management team.
  • Establish project budgets and controls, and effectively monitor and manager delivery.
  • Develop new business and secure new contracts.
  • Share knowledge and provide training and mentoring to other staff.
