About the Company

SF Partners are working on a retained basis to recruit a Senior Business Controller into the UK central finance function of a large international manufacturing business.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, the role offers broad exposure across multiple business units, combining business partnering, financial reporting, and strategic commercial support.

Working closely with senior operational leaders, finance directors, and corporate finance teams, you will play a key role in providing financial insight, driving performance, and supporting strategic decision-making across the organisation.

Success in this position requires strong teamwork, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while consistently delivering to tight reporting deadlines.

The organisation offers excellent long-term career development through structured training, internal progression opportunities, and succession planning across both finance and the wider business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Finance Business Partner for several central corporate functions, working closely with senior leadership to provide financial support and challenge.
  • Produce accurate monthly financial reporting, ensuring expenditure aligns with budgets and forecasts.
  • Work collaboratively with shared service finance teams to ensure all financial transactions are processed accurately and on time.
  • Monitor and report on central overhead costs, ensuring appropriate accounting treatment and allocation across business units.
  • Lead the budgeting, forecasting, and KPI reporting processes for designated functional areas.
  • Support the development and implementation of improved financial reporting, benchmarking, and performance management processes.
  • Drive continuous improvement across planning, reporting, and cost management.
  • Take ownership of elements of the month-end close process, including consolidation, review, and resolution of reporting issues.
  • Work closely with regional finance teams to ensure accurate and complete financial reporting.
  • Produce insightful financial analysis to support senior management decision-making.
  • Participate in and lead finance and business improvement projects where required.
  • Contribute to the wider finance team and provide support across additional strategic initiatives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
