Senior Business Development Manager

Permanent, Full-time or Part-time

The Role

The Senior Business Development Manager will help drive and accelerate direct sales growth within our global B2B SaaS business. Reporting to the Head of Sales, this role supports the delivery of agreed commercial strategies and revenue targets. You will lead new customer acquisition while managing and expanding existing accounts with strong growth potential. This global position carries responsibility for an annual revenue budget and covers designated companies and territories as part of our wider Sales team.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Support the Head of Sales in delivering the direct sales strategy and achieving revenue targets across agreed markets.
  • Follow established sales processes and work with wider James Fisher PLC teams to expand market presence and promote the digital portfolio.
  • Provide accurate and timely sales forecasting.
  • Manage the full direct sales pipeline from lead qualification to closure, ensuring strong progression and conversion.
  • Partner with Product Marketing to ensure effective messaging, collateral, and tools are in place.
  • Grow direct customer accounts through upsell, cross‑sell, and retention strategies aligned with team goals.
  • Work with Customer Success and Product teams to maintain high customer satisfaction and support evolving needs.
  • Use CRM and sales enablement tools to streamline sales operations and improve tracking and reporting in line with PLC frameworks.
  • Share market insights with Product Marketing and Product to support product development and sales enablement.
  • Work closely with the Head of Sales and Finance to maintain accurate forecasting and maximise revenue recognition.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven track record in senior sales roles within a global B2B SaaS environment, consistently achieving and exceeding direct sales targets.
  • Expertise in developing and implementing effective direct sales strategies across diverse international markets.
  • Strong understanding of sales forecasting, revenue recognition, and optimising sales performance against financial targets.
  • Hands-on experience with leading CRM platforms for effective pipeline management and reporting.
  • Superior verbal and written communication, with expert negotiation skills for complex deals.
  • Strong ability to analyse sales data, identify trends, and develop actionable strategies to improve sales outcomes.
  • A relentless drive to achieve and exceed targets, coupled with resilience in navigating challenges.
  • Ability to build excellent relationships and work effectively with both internal teams and external clients.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is desirable.
