The Opportunity
We are seeking a commercially driven Senior Business Development Manager to lead the expansion of a highly successful digital product into new markets. The product is well-established with proven market traction, and we are now entering an exciting phase of international growth and market development.
This role is ideal for a high-performing seller who enjoys:
- Building momentum in new territories
- Supporting a solution with strong market validation
- Shaping market presence, establishing strategic partnerships
- Playing a visible role in scaling revenue
Key Responsibilities
From day one, you will:
- Lead new market growth within a defined commercial strategy, set by the Commercial Director and executive team.
- Focus on building high-quality pipeline, leading senior-level conversations, and closing complex consultative deals.
- Drive performance within your pod, maintaining momentum across multi-stakeholder sales cycles, and ensuring consistent revenue delivery.
- Report directly to the Director of Commercial Revenue and contribute to scaling revenue across expanding markets.

The Day-to-Day
- Drive expansion: Build the digital product’s presence and credibility in new markets from the ground up.
- Execute outbound-led sales: Collaborate with a Business Development Executive (BDE) and Sales Development Representative (SDR) to generate high-quality pipeline.
- Close complex deals: Lead discovered sales cycles—from discussion through negotiation to close.
- Stakeholder management: Engage multiple decision-makers, navigating layered procurement processes.
- Senior-level engagements: Articulate strategic value, ROI, and long-term impact to leadership.
- Market adaptation: Operate confidently in a new setting where messaging and positioning evolve.
- Early adopter partnerships: Build case studies to accelerate growth.
- Mentorship: Guide junior team members in performance and accountability.

What We’re Looking For
Essential Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant sales experience, ideally within:
- Digital media
- Technology
- Higher education
- Agency services
- Full-cycle sales management: Experience closing considered purchase solutions involving multiple stakeholders.
- Relationship-building expertise: Comfortable engaging senior decision-makers in universities and large organisations.
- Consultative selling skills: Ability to understand client challenges and clearly articulate solution value.
- Outbound sales aptitude: Proactive lead generation mindset.
- Market adaptability: Resilience to navigate unfamiliar territories and maintain momentum.
- Self-driven drive: Confidence, ambition, and a commitment to the high-performing commercial team.
