Senior Business Development Manager
Senior Business Development Manager (R&D & Technology Consultancy)
We're looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to join our Consulting Technology team at Campden BRI, with home-based working and regular travel to our Chipping Campden site and client locations.
About the Role
- Drive the growth of Campden BRI’s portfolio in R&D and technology consultancy
- Identify new customers, build strategic partnerships, and execute targeted sales campaigns globally
- Report to the Global Sales Territory Manager
- Collaborate closely with technical teams to convert opportunities into fee-earning work
- Support the Associate Director of Consulting Technology in achieving ambitious sales growth
Key Responsibilities
- Drive proactive business development:
- Identify market trends
- Generate new leads
- Build long-term client partnerships
- Lead new client acquisition, with a focus on R&D and technology consultancy services
- Collaborate with technical experts across the business to identify and develop sales opportunities
- Execute targeted campaigns and manage the full sales pipeline from enquiry to close
- Apply consultative selling techniques to align client challenges with the right solutions
- Maintain accurate records of client engagements in CRM systems

Requirements
- Proven experience in new business development within a consultative, technical sales environment
- Degree in science or technology, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated track record of selling food consulting or R&D services to food industry clients
- Strong commercial mindset with ability to assess opportunities and evaluate service profitability
- Excellent communicator, confident engaging with both technical experts and senior stakeholders
- Self-motivated, highly organised, and comfortable working autonomously in a target-driven environment
- Full, clean driving licence required
