Business Development Manager – mua
MUA Group is an independent electricity and gas distribution network operator, connecting homes and businesses to essential energy infrastructure. We’re also a regulated water and wastewater company, adopting water and wastewater networks across Britain.

What You Will Be Doing
- Build long-lasting relationships with clients and relevant individuals to process and establish tender enquiries and tender submissions.
- Follow the submission of bids to attend meetings, negotiate and record all changes to the bid, involving the construction phase team as appropriate and finally hand the preconstruction phase of the project over to the construction phase leadership and delivery team.
- Liaise with Commercial Manager and Business Unit Heads on resources and business processes, to ensure that the preconstruction resource pool is an appropriate size, with suitable blend of skill-sets, for the projected workload.
- Manage the bid process from PQQ to Client Submission.
- Drive the direction to new markets inline with the Murphy Values.
- Ensure disciplines work interactively and communicate effectively and specific outputs are produced consistently and to appropriate standards.
- Reviews, challenges and approves project estimates at the appropriate level; giving due consideration to level of design and available information, risks, planning, support services, SHES and 3rd parties.
- Works with site commercial teams to ensure estimating budgets & programmes are reflective of actual delivery experience.
- Represents the preconstruction team at management meetings and interfaces with other departments / teams.
- Promote interaction with the appropriate functional leaders to facilitate successful development of solutions to problems and estimates.
- Ensure the preconstruction team proactively manages knowledge to facilitate continuous improvement & innovation.
- Upkeep resource databases in estimating software packages with the latest available resource cost information.

Who We Are Looking For
- Multi Utility Sector experience preferred but not essential.
- Working in the Industrial and Commercial Markets.
- Knowledge of iDNO/DNO Networks.
- Forward-thinking, mature attitude, with the ability to build long-term commercial relationships.
- Great track record as a Business Development professional.
- Experience of bid-writing/tendering.
- Valid UK driving licence.
