Climate17 are working with a leading provider of Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) who specialise in developing and operating advanced BESS and Energy Monitoring Systems (EMS) designed to meet the ever-increasing global demand for renewable power.
They are looking for a Senior Business Development Manager to drive business growth, identify new opportunities, and expand their market share in the battery storage sector.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a business development plan for battery storage solutions to achieve and exceed company goals and objectives Drive growth through identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, including partnerships, collaborations, and sales leads within the battery storage sector. Develop and maintain a pipeline of potential projects and clients. Always looking to identify new markets, industries, and segments for expansion where suitable and possible. Meet and aim to exceed sales targets and revenue goals. Engage with potential clients, understand their energy storage needs, and present tailored solutions. Develop and maintain strong client relationships to secure contracts and projects. Collaborate with tendering and technical teams to create comprehensive and competitive proposals for battery storage projects. Ensure that proposals meet customer requirements and industry standards. Negotiate contracts, agreements, and terms with clients, partners, and suppliers. Ensure that agreements are favourable and compliant with regulations and that internal limits and approvals are complied with. This will be through purchase, lease or zero capital options. Work closely with sales, marketing, engineering, and project management teams to ensure a cohesive approach to business development efforts and successful project execution. Conduct thorough market research to identify trends, emerging technologies, competitors, and potential opportunities in the battery storage industry. Stay updated on relevant regulations and policies. Attend relevant industry events, conferences, and networking functions to establish and foster relationships. Represent the company in a professional manner to enhance its reputation. Ensure timely updates and management of CRM system. Provide regular reports and performance metrics to senior management, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and areas for improvement within the business development department.

Requirements
5+ years experience in business development, sales, or related roles within the battery storage or renewable energy industry. Strong knowledge of battery storage technologies, market dynamics, and industry trends. Results-oriented with a track record of achieving and exceeding targets. Proficiency in CRM software and sales analytics tools. Demonstrated ability to identify and secure business opportunities. Results-driven mindset with a focus on achieving growth targets.
