Senior Business Development Manager
Senior Business Development Manager – Microbiology
Here at Campden BRI, we support the food & drink industry with innovation, laboratory testing to provide product assurance, challenge testing, shelf-life testing, and many other services. We’re looking for an experienced Technical Sales & Commercial (TIC) specialist to lead our new business development in Microbiology services.
What you’ll be doing
- Lead proactive business development activities
- Identify new market opportunities
- Deliver targeted sales campaigns
- Work closely with technical and operational teams to align client needs with market demand and internal capability
- Drive sustainable revenue growth and pipeline development
The role is global in scope, with a focus on:
- Developing new business
- Strengthening existing client relationships
- Promoting a range of consultancy services

For success, you’ll need: ✔ Strong understanding of technical environments, particularly within food microbiology ✔ Ability to translate technical expertise into commercial opportunities ✔ Delivery of measurable client outcomes
What we’re looking for
- Proven experience in business development within a technical or consultative sales environment
- Strong commercial mindset, with the ability to identify and convert opportunities into revenue
- Experience selling consultancy or technical services, ideally in the food or related industries
- Ability to build effective relationships with technical experts and commercial stakeholders
- Confident communicator, capable of influencing and engaging at all internal and external levels
- Highly self-motivated, and able to work independently in a target-driven environment
- Strong organisational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail
- Experience using CRM systems and maintaining accurate client records
- Degree in a science, technology, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- Full UK driving licence with a willingness to travel frequently
