Senior Business Development Manager – Transactional Practice (Finance, Corporate M&A & Private Equity)
About the Role
We are recruiting for a Senior Business Development Manager to work with a leading global law firm, based in their expanding London office. This is an exciting opportunity to join their collaborative team and drive forward business development (BD) through targeted initiatives and strategies.
You will be responsible for spearheading and implementing business growth programmes across their transactional practice areas: Finance, Corporate M&A, and Private Equity.
Responsibilities
Your key responsibilities will include:

Client targeting:
- Organising and leading programmes to identify and attract key clients.

Pitch and proposal development:
- Drafting content for competing pitches and Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
- Creating and project managing pitch materials.

Onboarding and talent development:
- Tracking and supporting lateral hires and the onboarding process.

Strategic growth initiatives:
- Identifying cross-selling opportunities and designing go-to-market strategies.
- Researching market trends, client needs, and competitor strategies.

Stakeholder & event coordination:
- Building agendas and preparing materials for client meetings and networks.
- Managing post-meeting actions and follow-ups.
- Coordinating BD events and profiling opportunities.

People and workflow management:
- Managing workflow of direct reports, including performance management.
- Executing and monitoring BD budgets.
Requirements
- Experience: Minimum 10+ years in Business Development, with preference for experience in a law firm. Alternately, professional services backgrounds will be considered.
- Skills/Personal qualities:
- Exceptional project & people management.
- Strong leadership, presentation, communication, and organisational abilities.
- Ability to design and execute impactful strategies while maintaining operational efficiency.
