About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Business Development Manager (Solar) to lead strategic commercial growth across the construction, M&E, and property developer sectors. As a key senior leader, you will identify opportunities, engage senior decision-makers, and drive new solar installation sales, large-scale contracts, and high-value partnerships to position Ecovision as a market leader in commercial solar projects.

This is an exceptional opportunity to leverage your technical expertise, commercial acumen, and industry network to deliver scalable revenue growth while fostering long-term client relationships in a rapidly expanding sector.

Ecovision specialises in design, installation, and management of distributed rooftop solar PV asset portfolios across the UK. With:

  • Over 5,500 systems installed
  • 19,000+ installations managed (63MWp capacity)
  • Strong track record in long-term solar performance optimisation

Ecovision is adapting to market demand, refocusing efforts on new solar PV installations (up to 500kWp) while maintaining cost-efficiency improvements for clients.

Key Responsibilities

Your Daily Focus Area

  • Solar PV commercial sales & development for rooftop installations (up to 500kWp) within construction, M&E, and developer sectors.

Core Accountabilities

  • Strategic Business Leadership

    • Lead business development initiatives in Construction, M&E, and Property Development sectors.
    • Collaborate with the Sales & Marketing Director to drive high-value deal generation and exceed performance targets.
  • Lead Generation & Relationship Building

    • Analyse market trends to inform pricing strategies, positioning, and service development.
    • Build and maintain long-term relationships with senior stakeholders, including C-Suite executives in property development, construction, and M&E companies.
    • Act as a trusted advisor to key accounts, ensuring seamless communication, exceptional service, and client retention.
  • Sales Process Ownership

    • Identify opportunities → create tailored proposals → negotiate & close contracts → smooth handover to Operations.
    • Conduct site visits to evaluate suitability, capture technical requirements, and propose custom solar solutions.
  • External Representation & Networking

    • Represent Ecovision at industry events, forums, and networking opportunities.
    • Strengthen brand presence and forge valuable industry connections.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with Design & Technical teams to ensure project specifications, bids, and delivery align with long-term client value and business strategy.
    • Drive sales initiatives and growth initiatives in alignment with company goals.

What You’ll Bring

Essential Requirements

  • Proven expertise in generating high-value leads, closing complex B2B deals, and consistently exceeding sales quotas in Construction, M&E, and Developer sectors.
  • Strong industry network of contacts in rooftop solar PV installations to accelerate opportunity identification.
  • End-to-end commercial ownership of the sales process, from prospecting to negotiation, closing, and handover.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with experience engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Persuasive, clear communicator who builds long-term client trust and loyalty.
  • Result-driven mindset—self-directed, proactive, with a focus on continuous improvement.

Desirable Advantages

  • Deep knowledge of commercial solar PV technologies, latest trends, and offertailored solutions.
  • Technical competency in PV design, including panel systems, mounting structures, and battery storage options.
  • Understanding of solar financing models (Capex, PPA, Asset Finance) to advise clients.

Employment Conditions

  • Location: Hybrid (office-based with regular attendance) + travel throughout England & Wales.
  • Hours: 37.5 hrs/week (Monday–Friday).
  • Salary: Negotiable base + competitive commission package + car allowance (OTE £100K+).
  • Pre-employment checks: DBS, satisfactory references, and a 6-month probation period.
