Exclusive Opportunity | Senior Business Development Manager | Energy & Natural Resources

London | Leading International Law Firm

I'm delighted to be exclusively partnering with a leading international law firm on the appointment of a Senior Business Development Manager to lead the BD strategy for its global Energy & Natural Resources practice.

This is a rare opportunity to step into a genuinely strategic leadership role, working directly with senior partners across the UK and US to shape the growth of one of the firm's most important global sectors. You'll lead major business development initiatives, manage an established team and play a key role in driving revenue growth across an international platform.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the global BD strategy for the Energy & Natural Resources practice.
  • Partnering with senior leadership to identify and deliver strategic growth opportunities.
  • Driving client targeting, pipeline management and revenue-focused BD initiatives.
  • Leading major pitches, RFPs and panel opportunities.
  • Developing high-impact thought leadership campaigns and market positioning.
  • Overseeing global business development programmes and driving best practice across the function.
  • Using CRM, AI and data insights to inform strategy and improve BD effectiveness.
  • Managing, mentoring and developing a high-performing international BD team.
  • Collaborating with colleagues across the UK, Europe and the US on firmwide growth initiatives.

What They're Looking For

  • Senior Business Development experience within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Proven experience operating at a strategic level with senior stakeholders.
  • Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate market insight into growth opportunities.
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • A collaborative, proactive approach with the confidence to influence at partner level.
  • Energy sector experience would be advantageous but is by no means essential.
