Senior Business Excellence Lead - Strategy & Operations
About the Role
In the Manufacturing team at JLR’s Electric Propulsion Manufacturing Centre (EPMC), you’ll help power iconic electric cars. You will be working alongside incredible technicians and leaders to drive our commitment to shape a future we truly believe in, together.
Play a key role in shaping and improving performance across Propulsion Manufacturing Operations.
This position sits at the heart of the business, translating JLR’s Reimagine strategy into clear, practical actions that drive measurable outcomes across the shop floor. It’s an opportunity to work across two manufacturing sites, bringing structure, clarity, and alignment to how the business plans and delivers.
In this role, you’ll lead initiatives that enhance efficiency, optimise processes, and embed integrated business planning across operations. Working closely with senior leaders and cross-functional teams, you’ll deliver strategic projects, lead workshops, and ensure priorities are aligned through robust governance and performance management. Use data and insight to guide decisions, improve engagement, and ensure plans are not only well defined but effectively executed.
A leading role for someone with deep expertise at the intersection of strategy and delivery—someone who brings a continuous improvement mindset, strong stakeholder engagement skills, and the ability to translate complexity into simple, actionable plans.
Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll contribute to and drive:
- High-quality outcomes
- Support of the wider team
Key tasks include:
- Lead a Business Excellence team across two plants (EPMC & BAC), owning the overall Business Excellence agenda, and driving continuous improvement initiatives
- Develop and implement Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and Hoshin Kanri models to align strategic and operational objectives
- Facilitate KPI policy deployment, cascading priorities into functional scorecards, operational reviews, and structured plant-level cadence reviews
- Engage and influence senior stakeholders through dashboards, executive presentations, and coordinated reporting of programme metrics and KPIs
- Oversee key business projects, ensuring delivery to quality, cost, and time targets, including introduction and management of project tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Identify and implement process improvements, embedding lean principles to streamline operations and enhance execution
- Lead workshops and planning sessions (including senior leadership), support plant visits, and partner with communications teams to ensure consistent messaging and engagement

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
