Description

Are you passionate about using data to shape how millions of customers experience Amazon? We're looking for a Senior Business Intelligence Engineer to own analytics across EU Customer Experience programmes and Catalogue Health, two workstreams that directly influence what European customers see, discover, and buy every day.

You'll design data models that reveal how catalogue defects degrade the shopping experience, build measurement frameworks that tell leadership which programmes are actually moving the needle, and deliver the analytical foundations that drive strategic decisions across ten European marketplaces. On the engineering side, you'll build production-grade data pipelines using Python, Spark, SQL, and AWS serverless infrastructure. On the analytics side, you'll own the insights that shape programme direction, deep-diving into customer engagement data, quantifying the impact of quality improvements on real shopping behaviour, and surfacing the opportunities that inform what gets built next. You'll also contribute to AI-powered self-serve analytics capabilities, building data foundations that accelerate how quickly teams can act on customer signals.

This role requires someone comfortable with ambiguity who can take ownership of a problem end-to-end, from scoping what to measure through to delivering insights that change how teams prioritise. You'll influence senior stakeholders, define what success looks like for programmes that don't yet have measurement, and operate at the intersection of data and strategy. If you want your analytical work to have a direct line to how European customers discover and evaluate products, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Leading the design and delivery of analytical data products (datamarts, automated reporting suites, deep-dive frameworks, and AI-powered self-serve tools) that give leadership a clear view of customer experience performance across EU marketplaces
  • Defining and tracking success metrics for programmes that don't yet have measurement, working with senior stakeholders to establish what good looks like and building the infrastructure to track progress against it
  • Building analytics that connect catalogue quality to real customer outcomes (engagement, conversion, abandonment), turning previously invisible problems into actionable priorities that shift how teams invest
  • Developing measurement frameworks for emerging AI-powered shopping experiences, giving leadership the evidence base to decide where to scale and where to change direction
  • Contributing to AI-powered self-serve analytics suites, designing data models and tooling that let product teams move from question to insight to action without waiting for BI support
  • Building prioritisation and scoring models using Python and large-scale retail data, directly influencing which customer experience improvements get resourced
  • Conducting deep-dive analyses that challenge existing assumptions, surface non-obvious drivers of customer behaviour, and translate findings into concrete recommendations that shift programme strategy
  • Partnering with Product and Program Managers to translate ambiguous goals into measurable frameworks, owning the analytical narrative that shapes roadmap decisions at Director and VP level

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

About The Team

We are the EU Stores Customer Experience Analytics & Automation team. Our broader organisation leads customer experience strategy across ten European marketplaces, with product and programme managers who own the vision for how customers discover and evaluate products, working with global technology teams across Amazon to ship the features that make it happen. Our team sits at the technical core of that mission with two functions: (1) CX Analytics, the measurement and intelligence capability that tells leadership whether programmes are working, surfaces the gaps, and drives what gets prioritised next; and (2) Automated Marketing Technology, building the foundational tools and models that EU marketeers leverage to deliver automated and personalised experiences at scale.

Your work sits on the CX analytics side, spanning two workstreams: customer experience programmes (how customers discover and evaluate products) and catalogue quality (ensuring the underlying product data is complete, correct, and compelling). Each workstream is led by a senior leader, which means you'll have direct access to experienced sponsors who can shape priorities and give your work visibility at Director and VP level. You'll define what to measure and how to act on it, not just respond to requests.
