About the Role
As a Senior Business Manager, you will take on a pivotal leadership role with real influence over how a complex business unit performs and grows. This is far more than a planning role – you’ll have responsibility for:
- Operational delivery
- Commercial performance
- Strategic direction
Balancing immediate priorities with long-term growth, you will lead a high-impact environment focused on future energy solutions and national resilience.
Key Responsibilities
Daily Duties
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver operational performance against:
- Budgets
- Schedules
- Key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Manage financial performance, including:
- Planning
- Forecasting
- Driving profitability across the business unit
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while:
- Supporting bids
- Ensuring contract delivery activities
- Coordinate business planning and reporting to provide clear, data-driven insights for decision-making
- Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance:
- Efficiency
- Overall performance

Working Hours & Arrangements
This role is full time (37 hours/week), with hybrid working arrangements available.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
Experience Required
- Proven experience in managing or influencing profit and loss (P&L), budgets, and financial performance
- Experience delivering multiple projects or contracts simultaneously in a complex environment
- Strong track record of leading and developing high-performing teams
- Ability to drive:
- Operational efficiency
- Performance improvement
- Resource optimisation
- Experience managing customer relationships and commercial outcomes within regulated sectors, such as:
- Nuclear
- Defence
- Infrastructure
Qualifications Required
- A qualification in a relevant technical or project management discipline (or equivalent experience)
- Must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance (see GOV.UK for details)
