Senior Business Partner – Europe
Division: Finance – Financial Performance Reports To: Head of Business Partnering – Financial Performance (solid line) / Head of European Finance (dotted line) Key Relationships: EU/BIDAC Finance, UK and Global Financial Performance, European Management Committee, Group Actuarial and Strategic Finance; internal users across broader business
Job Summary
Beazley is seeking a Senior Business Partner – Europe to create commercial and strategic alignment across Europe via insightful business partnership and financial leadership. Reporting to the Head of Business Partnering-Financial Performance, this is an influential role bridging the gap between senior European management, functional finance leadership and broader strategic initiatives.
Ensuring a commercial, data-driven voice speaks to Europe’s financial planning – capturing short-term insights and long-term strategic direction – requires a candidate who thrives on unpacking complex underwriting/expense drivers and serving as an opinionated stakeholder advocate between the Group, European leaders and their peers.
Key foci include:
- A European-specific lens on financial planning, medium-term strategy and underwriting needs.
- Revenue stream analysis of cross-platform reinsurance interaction.
- Interpretive storytelling around European expense base (both commercial and non-commercial costs).
- Proactive needs assessment with EU leadership to surface both obvious and emerging risks/challenges.
- Hands-on euro support for regulatory/subsidy submissions; may build on/modernise tools/practices.
An externally-facing strategic advisor, you’ll use your commercial awareness and sharp performance-backed storytelling to help senior management make decisions with full knowledge of European conditions. Innovation – operational or process – is an enagHerment; internal service delivery must align to drive excellence through cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Insight Delivery
- Work closely (Head of Business Partnering – FP), aligning initiatives (empowerment culture, exploit cap) with sustainable EU financial performance e.g.:
- Distil actionable insights from disparate short-term planning cycles (forecasts, actuals) to drive clarity around query resolution and trend-surface significances for senior management.
- Deep-dive European-specific expense drivers; bridge obscured linkages between commercial costs and Group-wide cost centres to clarify cost optimisation opportunities with poignant storytelling.
- Resolve gaps in internal reinsurance financials; ensure EU revenue streams are interpretations of core business strategies/Principle Lines (no silo).
- Risk baseline articulation: Map regulatory/reporting risks in Europe, ensuring cohesion between financial hearsay and pragmatic solutions for submissions – regulatory reviews (e.g., Solvency II, tax) included.
- Proactively involve in keyft Finance projects with a European lens – may involve tool/reflective evaluation.
Stakeholder Advocacy & Culture
- Chief channel between EU leadership, FP teams and broader finance stakeholders; deliver clarity via zero-nonsense interpretation/commercial embracment of ntc....
- Ensure EPS-riddled EU management executives feel the tactical sustainability of their strategic decisions.

Leading Improvement / Tool Enhancement
- Work to upgrade internal assets so Europe’s sound strategy isn’t slowed by analytical or operational gaps:
- Evaluate gaps in current business partnering framework; pilot implementation of innovations (iterative Begin – streamlining Maastricht).
- With support of modernised toolkit, augment performance management and drive insight generation e.g., visualisation, real-time tracking.

Education / Qualifications / Experience
Essential Criteria
- Eligible Chartered/Associate-qualified:
- AICA/ACCA (Public Sector Basis Advisors also admissibe)
- CIMA or equivalent aprovada
- Relevant Insurance/Complex Insurance organisations – minimum 5 years focused face-to-face client-regulatory/strategy interaction with at least 2 in senior (graduate + 2).
- Exposure to development forces, planning processes, gov./impact tranf*let’s regulations as key stakeholder.
- GAAP consolidation accounting tanta (solvency requirements and comparable currency concerns).
