Senior Business Support Assistant - Health Improvement

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC)

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is one of the largest healthcare systems in the United Kingdom, employing approximately 40,000 staff across a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health services to a population of over 1.15 million people, and to a wider population of 2.2 million when regional and national services are included.

The Role

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Senior Business Support Assistant to provide a comprehensive range of administrative support services on a fixed-term basis.

You will provide business support to the Health Improvement Team, which manages the Employability Service delivered across four HSCP services: ESTEEM, Family Nurse Partnership, Youth Health Service, and the Social Work Intensive Monitoring Service.

All roles will be assessed for sponsorship eligibility in line with current Home Office requirements. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) can only issue a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) where these are met.

Duration, Location, and Working Pattern

  • Duration: This is a fixed-term post until the 31st of March 2027
  • Location: West House, Gartnavel General Hospital
  • Working Pattern: Part-time hours, 18 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 0900 until 1700. Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to ensure the effective delivery of the Employability Service, including supporting programme monitoring requirements, maintaining accurate data through the Hanlon Employability System, and working closely with Employability Coaches to help deliver a comprehensive service.
  • Managing day-to-day administrative duties, handling confidential information and enquiries, coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes.
  • Planning and organising their workload effectively, using problem-solving skills to manage competing priorities and deadlines while working collaboratively within both a small team and a wider service network.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This post may close early due to the volume of response. Please submit your application form as soon as possible.

AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot can be great for planning and preparing your application, but your answers must be your own.

Show Us the Real You

  • Your application should reflect your skills, experience, and motivations authentically.
  • Use AI wisely: It’s fine to use AI for ideas or to check spelling and grammar, but don’t let it write your answers.

Why This Matters

  • Applications that rely on AI-generated content may be withdrawn.
  • By applying, you confirm your responses are based on your own knowledge and achievements.

Tip

Think of AI as a helper, not a substitute. We want to understand you, not an AI tool.
