Senior Business Travel Consultant (Part-Time) Out of Hours

Homebased | Amadeus Essential | £15 per hour + bonuses

A well-established, growing independent Travel Management Company is looking for an experienced Part time Out of Hours, Business Travel Consultant to join their team.

This is a rare and highly flexible opportunity, ideal for an experienced corporate travel professional seeking a better work-life balance.

Senior Business Travel Consultant, Role:

  • Managing a very low volume of out-of-hours travel requests (primarily via email)
  • Booking and amending UK, European and worldwide business travel (flights, hotels, car hire)
  • Handling changes, reissues and any urgent travel disruptions
  • Working in line with client travel policies and cost-effective solutions
  • Predominantly business travel (approx. 90–99%), with very occasional leisure assistance needed

This is a true on-call position - most nights are quiet, with long periods of downtime once any initial tasks are completed.

Senior Business Travel Consultant, Working Pattern:

  • 2 fixed nights per week: Monday & Tuesday
  • Hours: 17:00 – 09:30
  • Plus: 4 weeks per year additional cover (planned well in advance to cover the other OOH staff member for annual leave - covering Mon - Sun - working 5 out of 7 shifts those weeks instead of 2 to include weekend days on those weeks)
  • Fully home-based

Senior Business Travel Consultant, Package:

  • £15 per hour (approx 1914 hours a year)
  • Additional £25 bonus for any emergency work carried out between midnight – 4am (per PNR, if applicable)
  • Low workload — often described as being paid to sleep for the majority of the shift
  • Supportive, friendly team
  • Permanent contract

Senior Business Travel Consultant, Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Business Travel Consultant within a TMC
  • Strong Amadeus knowledge (cryptic/command essential)
  • Confident handling reissues, fares and fare rules and ticket issue
  • Solid understanding of airline policies and GDS processes
  • Ability to manage urgent or crisis situations independently when required

This is a genuinely unique role offering flexibility, autonomy, and a very light workload - perfect for someone experienced who wants something a little different or a lighter workload but with a reasonable salary still.
