About The Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Buyer to join our Procurement team at Sellafield. This is an exciting opportunity for a procurement professional who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, driving value through the supply chain, and contributing to the successful delivery of major projects.

Join Balfour Beatty and help deliver some of the UK's most significant nuclear infrastructure projects.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Buyer, you will play a key role in supporting project delivery by managing procurement activities from requisition through to order placement. You will also support wider procurement initiatives, category management activities and supply chain strategies whilst helping to maximise value and drive continuous improvement across the business.

Responsibilities:

  • Managing procurement activities and fulfilling business requisitions.
  • Acting as a key point of contact for procurement support, advice and query resolution.
  • Sourcing suppliers and obtaining competitive quotations.
  • Conducting tender processes and evaluating supplier proposals.
  • Managing plant hire equipment and site vehicle requirements.
  • Producing spend analysis, market intelligence reports and procurement data.
  • Developing Supply Chain Strategies and maintaining Procurement Schedules.
  • Building and maintaining effective relationships with stakeholders and supply chain partners.
  • Identifying opportunities for cost savings and value improvement.
  • Negotiating commercial terms and supplier discounts.
  • Monitoring supplier performance and supporting category management activities.
  • Ensuring compliance with procurement policies, procedures and group agreements.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
