Senior Buyer
Interim Senior Buyer
Contract: 6 months
Our client is an established engineering and manufacturing business supplying complex products into a range of industrial markets. Due to increased workload, they are seeking an experienced Interim Senior Buyer to provide immediate support to their procurement team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded procurement professional with a background in engineering or manufacturing, who enjoys operating in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
The Role
Reporting to the Procurement Manager, you will take ownership of a portfolio of strategic suppliers, ensuring continuity of supply while delivering improvements across cost, quality, and delivery.
Working closely with Engineering, Production, Quality, and Operations, you will support ongoing manufacturing activity as well as a variety of business-critical engineering projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end procurement of engineered components, materials, and subcontract services.
- Develop sourcing strategies to improve supplier performance, resilience, and value.
- Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, contractual terms, and supplier agreements.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks to support operational continuity.
- Work collaboratively with internal stakeholders to support engineering changes, production requirements, and business projects.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across cost, quality, and supplier performance.
- Ensure material availability to meet manufacturing schedules and customer commitments.
About You
You’ll have experience in:
- Procuring technical or engineered products within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Managing supplier relationships and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Working closely with engineering, production, and operational teams.
- Managing multiple procurement activities simultaneously while delivering against deadlines.
- Operating confidently within a fast-paced and evolving business environment.

Experience within engineering, manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, automotive, energy, or other technically complex sectors would be advantageous.
