Senior Buyer - Childrenswear (Boys Brands)
Kent / Sussex | Hybrid (3 days in the office) | Competitive Salary
Love childrenswear? Thrive on spotting the next big opportunity and building relationships with the most exciting childrenswear brands in the market? Ready to shape a category, not just manage it?
We're looking for an experienced Senior Childrenswear Buyer to take ownership of a portfolio of well-known brands within a fast-paced, international retail business that continues to grow year after year.
This is far more than a buying role. You'll be at the heart of commercial decision-making, working with globally recognised brands, influencing category strategy, mentoring Buyers, and collaborating with teams across the business to create an exceptional customer proposition.
If you enjoy combining commercial instinct with strategic thinking and love seeing your decisions make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the buying strategy across key branded categories, building commercially successful seasonal ranges.
- Developing and nurturing strong relationships with luxury brand partners while identifying exciting new opportunities.
- Using customer insight, trading data, and market trends to identify opportunities for growth across international markets.
- Creating balanced assortments that delight customers while delivering strong commercial performance.
- Partnering closely with Merchandising to optimise stock investment, forecasting, and category profitability.
- Leading weekly trading reviews, reacting quickly to performance, and driving continuous improvement.
- Working closely with Ecommerce and Marketing to deliver impactful product launches, hero products, and commercial campaigns.
- Coaching and supporting Buyers, sharing your expertise, and helping to develop the wider team.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
