Senior C++ Developer for Linux
FMX is BGC Group’s electronic trading marketplace focused on U.S. Treasuries, foreign exchange, repo, and interest rate futures. Combining the established FMX UST and FX platforms with the FMX Futures Exchange, FMX provides a fully electronic ecosystem for trading key global fixed-income and currency products.
Role
Full Time team member focusing on application performance:
- Application refactoring
- Network utilization
Excellent communication skills and working as part of an established development team are expected.
Required Experience
- 10+ years of low latency application development using modern C++ including cache coherency, core isolation, memory management, data structure optimization and kernel bypass
- Unit testing
- Multi-threaded application design implications, use of shared memory and lock free MPSC and SPMC queues
- Working knowledge of TCP and UDP protocols, latency and throughput measurements
- Internal API and protocol design and implementation
- Production issue response and remediation
- Appropriate use of AI resources to supplement knowledge and workflow

Helpful Experience
- Exchange related applications such as customer order entry and market data gateways, matching engines, and associated protocols including binary and FIX
- Solarflare hardware configuration and API
- Knowledge and experience of using PCIe 6.0 or even 7.0 to communicate with FPGAs or custom network stack off load hardware
- Git/GitLab
- Knowledge or experience with debugging tools such as GBD and UDB, time-travel debugger
- Wireshark, Corvil, and decoders

Ideal candidate will have worked at an exchange developing ultra-low-latency matching engines or at high frequency trading firms which rely on optimum tick-to-trade latencies for their algos to generate alpha.
