The Role
To produce drawings, models (2D and 3D) and information as required to enable accurate construction on site, assist with tender documents and design requirements.
What You'll Be Doing
- Collate information from a variety of sources to produce drawings and data that ensures accurate construction on site.
- Preparation of design drawings using mainly AutoCAD software.
- Site layouts, site logistics, detailed sections.
- Production of site 3D model with CMBuilder. Can be trained.
- Prepare RC and steelwork details as required.
- Assist the Engineering team with reviewing fabrication drawings from cage suppliers.
- Drive continuous improvement by maintaining an overview of developments in CAD/BIM technologies, relevant CAD/BIM standards and Codes of Practice.
- Assist the Engineering Manager to develop BIM technologies and BEP within BSL.
- Version control of drawings produced in accordance with project procedures.
- Maintenance of documentation in accordance with project procedures.
- To support the function or other members of the Engineering, Operations and Estimating teams.
- Support the CAD team with training, and the development of junior CAD technicians.
- Coordinate workload with Bachy Soletanche Engineering India or external CAD parties.
- Work under limited supervision performing complex technical work.

What We’re Looking For
Essential
- Proficient in AutoCAD 2D and 3D.
- Experience in Bentley MicroStation, Openbuilder, Aecosim Environment.
- Ability to work within any Common Data Environment or adapt themselves.
- Excellent computer skills/I.T. literate including SharePoint.
- RC detailing experience.
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, both internally and externally.
- Ability to work alone using own initiative, or as part of a team.
- Ability to prioritise work efficiently and manage expectations internally and externally.
- Self-motivated and commercially aware.
- Problem solving, ‘can do’ attitude.
- Able to work under pressure.
- Prepared to work to agreed programmes and deadlines for the production of drawings.
- Prepared to take responsibility for their own work and 'ownership' of the drawings produced.
Desirable
- Knowledge of reinforced concrete detailing for civil works.
- REVIT.
- Experienced in CDE ProjectWise.
- Technical note production.
- Civil Engineering academic qualifications.
