We are recruiting for an experienced Senior CAD Technician
We are recruiting for an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join a growing design team delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK water sector. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in the production of high-quality engineering drawings and models that support the delivery of clean water and wastewater projects.

Working closely with multidisciplinary design engineers, you will be responsible for producing accurate, compliant, and efficient design deliverables while ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
The Role
As a Senior CAD Technician, Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Producing high-quality CAD drawings and 3D models in line with project programmes and budgets.
- Working collaboratively with Design Engineers to develop detailed engineering drawings.
- Ensuring all drawings comply with company CAD standards, industry best practice, and client requirements.
- Preparing and maintaining accurate design documentation using ProjectWise and other document management systems.
- Managing your workload effectively, recording time accurately, and supporting project planning through realistic task estimates.
- Minimising rework by producing accurate, coordinated design information.
- Applying standard details, design standards, and quality procedures throughout the design process.
- Supporting continuous improvement in CAD processes and mentoring junior technicians where appropriate.

About You
We're looking for an experienced CAD professional who enjoys working in a collaborative engineering environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality technical outputs.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum of 4 years' CAD drafting experience within an engineering environment.
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Sound understanding of engineering principles with the ability to interpret and produce engineering drawings.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management skills.
- Experience working within structured design processes and quality standards.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience using Civil 3D.
- Experience using Revit.
- HNC (or higher) in Engineering or a related discipline.
- Knowledge of water, utilities, or other infrastructure drawing standards.
- Experience using ProjectWise or similar document management systems.
- Ability to produce reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules for reinforced concrete structures.
