Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Retail team at Mountain Warehouse as a Senior Campaigns & Promotions Manager. In this role, you will lead the planning, development, and execution of promotional activity to drive sales, increase brand awareness, and enhance customer engagement across three brands and nine international markets.


Key Responsibilities

Promotions Calendar

  • Own and manage the promotional calendar critical path, ensuring timelines align with seasonal planning and buying cycles
  • Shape the commercial retail strategy by building a promotional and campaign calendar rooted in:
    • Business objectives
    • Regional trading patterns
    • Previous performance insights
    • Focus on like-for-like sales growth
  • Work closely with the Promotions Coordinator to ensure campaigns are planned and delivered on time
  • Collaborate regularly with regional retail and e-commerce teams to:
    • Review promotional plans
    • Adapt to trading conditions, weather, and stock availability
  • Continuously review and refine current and future calendars to align with evolving business needs
  • Monitor competitor activity and market trends to inform and strengthen strategies

Promotions Implementation

  • Partner with Merchandising and Trading teams to ensure stock availability supports promotional activity
  • Contribute to POS (Point of Sale) and VM (Visual Merchandising) planning, providing clear actionable briefs
  • Regularly review implementation plans to reflect strategic changes and incorporate insights
  • Oversee and sign off on all promotional communications to:
    • Head office
    • Retail teams

Promotions Reporting

  • Analyse promotional performance data and recommend optimisations for current and future campaigns
  • Capture key learnings from:
    • Data
    • Retail feedback
    • Embed insights into future planning

Local Retail Marketing

  • Identify opportunities for regional promotional activity
  • Build strong relationships with retail centres and ensure marketing assets are available
  • Review and evaluate performance of local campaigns, providing recommendations

Marketing Campaigns

  • Develop campaign and product marketing calendars aligned with:
    • Promotional plan
    • Business priorities
    • Regional requirements
  • Manage campaign critical paths, ensuring clear timelines and accurate information delivery
  • Brief creative and marketing requirements to:
    • POS teams
    • Graphics teams
    • VM teams
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across:
    • Retail teams
    • Web teams
    • Commercial teams
    • B&M (Body & Mind) teams
    • Deliver impactful campaigns
  • Evaluate campaign effectiveness and embed learnings

Team Leadership

  • Lead and develop the Promotions team, supporting:
    • Communication
    • Capability building
    • Performance
  • Foster strong cross-functional collaboration with:
    • POS teams
    • Graphics teams
    • VM teams
    • Merchandising teams
    • Buying teams
    • Retail teams
    • Web teams
    • IT teams
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive operational efficiencies
  • Support system enhancements and adoption of new ways of working
  • Coach and guide wider teams on best practice and new processes
  • Conduct regular store visits and competitor benchmarking (comp shops)

Requirements

We would like to meet someone with:

  • Strong commercial awareness with a data-driven and analytical mindset
  • Excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Confident decision-making based on insight and performance data
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Commercial thinking with a passion for delivering engaging campaigns
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
  • High attention to detail
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools, including:
    • Excel

  • Proven experience in:
    • Promotions
    • Marketing
    • Campaign management
  • Previous retail experience is desirable but not essential
