Senior Cannabis Recruitment Consultant - German Speaking

Senior Cannabis Recruitment Consultant, German Speaking

Location: Fully remote in the UK, with travel to Manchester required during the first 3 months. Ideally once or twice a month for a couple days so our Recruitment Director can get you fully up to speed. After that, travel to Manchester may be required around once a month maximum.

About Lumino

Lumino is Europe’s first and leading cannabis recruitment agency, focused solely on the fast-growing legal cannabis industry. Since the European legal cannabis market began developing in 2018, we have been placing talent across CBD, medical cannabis, and emerging adult-use recreational markets.

We are a small, ambitious team trying to do recruitment differently. We believe in transparency, ethics and honesty. We do not believe in old-school recruitment tactics, cutting corners, or treating people like numbers. Our view is simple: if we chase the success of our clients and candidates, revenue will follow. Not the other way round.

In cannabis, reputation matters. It is a tight-knit industry, and the people we place can have a real impact on how this market develops. We are not here to just fill seats. We want to help build the future of the industry by finding people who genuinely move companies forward.

The Role

This is a senior, delivery led recruitment role with a clear path into 270-degree work.

Lumino is still a start up in many ways. We are a team of 6. Our CEO and COO lead sales and marketing, while the recruitment team focuses on delivery, account management and candidate relationships. Right now, our sales and marketing team are bringing in more live roles than ever before. Around 90% of our work comes through exclusive partnerships, so you will not be expected to spend your day cold calling for new clients. Your main job will be to deliver.

You will manage the full 180 recruitment process, from taking briefs and sourcing candidates through to shortlists, interviews, offers and close. You will work directly with HR teams, CEOs, investors and hiring managers across Europe and beyond. We expect the 180 process to be your bread and butter.

That said, this is not a passive delivery role. As you learn the market, you will be expected to build your desk - spot opportunities, generate leads and grow your desk from your own network. We want someone who thinks commercially and wants to build a name for themselves in the cannabis market.

This role will not suit everyone. We work hard, move fast and care a lot about delivery. Sometimes that means early starts, late finishes or doing what needs to be done to get a process over the line. We care about outcomes, not micromanagement. We do what it takes to get the job done. For our clients, failure isn’t an option and that mindset runs through everything we do. We work hard and we put the hours in. That won’t be for everyone. But if you take pride in delivery and hate half-finished work, you’ll feel at home here. You’ll be treated like an adult. If you need flexibility to make life work, that’s fine, but outcomes matter. We focus on results and everyone is trusted to deliver.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Market Dynamics

Unlike many agencies, we recruit across an industry vertical rather than one narrow candidate vertical.

  • Diverse roles: One week you might be hiring a salesperson in Germany, a project manager in Spain and a COO in the UK
  • International exposure: You may be working across Germany, Portugal, Spain, France, the USA, Thailand, Colombia, Brazil or Canada
  • Starting from scratch: You need to be comfortable building searches from the ground up rather than relying on a stagnant database or recycled candidates
  • Headhunting focused: For some roles, you will be properly headhunting and building market maps from scratch
  • High volume environment: You may be managing 4 to 5 live jobs, 40 to 50 candidates, 10 to 20 interviews and 10 to 12 candidate calls in a day
  • Organisation matters: You need to be proactive, organised and able to manage candidates and clients properly without being chased

What You Will Be Doing

  • Managing the full 180 recruitment process from brief to close
  • Taking job specs, advising clients and managing expectations
  • Sourcing, headhunting and screening candidates across international markets
  • Building strong shortlists and presenting candidates clearly
  • Managing interviews, feedback, offers and negotiations
  • Keeping candidates updated and giving every candidate a professional, respectful experience
  • Giving clients regular updates and maintaining a high level of service
  • Managing commercial conversations around offers, process and hiring strategy
  • Keeping the CRM accurate and building your LinkedIn network
  • Managing your own desk like a business within a business
  • Building relationships across the cannabis industry so the right people know who you are
  • Generating leads through your network as you grow into a more 270-focused role

Who We Are Looking For

We are looking for someone who already knows how to recruit properly.

  • Recruitment fundamentals: You should be confident taking a brief, understanding what good looks like, building a shortlist, managing a process and closing offers
  • Hit the ground running: We can teach you the cannabis market, but we need someone with strong recruitment fundamentals from day one
  • Strong communicator: You should be natural on the phone, confident with clients and comfortable speaking to candidates all day
  • Client confidence: If client calls make you nervous, this probably is not the right role
  • Self-motivated: If you need heavy management to stay focused, this will not work
  • Commercial mindset: We want someone proactive, ambitious and excited by building something bigger than just another recruitment desk
  • Purpose-driven: This is not just another recruitment job. We want someone who wants to contribute to a young industry, build a serious network and have real purpose in their work
  • Track record in billings: We are looking for people with a consistent billing track record. If you do not know your previous year’s billings, you are probably not right for this role
