Senior MRI Radiographer

Welbeck Cambridge

Compass Associates are delighted to be partnering exclusively with Welbeck Health Partners on the launch of their brand-new diagnostic and day-case hospital in Cambridge.

Building on the success of their flagship London facility, Welbeck is expanding its network with a state-of-the-art centre designed to deliver outstanding patient care across a range of specialties including Cardiology, Respiratory Medicine, Gastroenterology, ENT, Neurology and Orthopaedics.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced MRI Radiographer to join a newly established imaging department and play a key role in shaping MRI services from the ground up.

The Role

As a Senior MRI Radiographer, you will be responsible for delivering a high-quality MRI service while supporting the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the imaging department.

Working closely with Consultant Radiologists and the wider multidisciplinary team, you will perform a broad range of MRI examinations, contribute to service development and help maintain the highest standards of patient care and clinical excellence.

The role offers exposure to a varied caseload across multiple specialties, with opportunities to further develop specialist skills and contribute to the growth of a brand-new service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform a wide range of MRI examinations to a high clinical standard.
  • Deliver excellent patient care throughout the imaging pathway.
  • Ensure compliance with MRI safety standards, local rules and departmental protocols.
  • Administer IV contrast agents in accordance with PGDs and departmental procedures.
  • Assess image quality and optimise imaging protocols where appropriate.
  • Support the day-to-day running of the MRI service and contribute to service improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in audit, governance and quality assurance activities.
  • Support and mentor junior radiographers and new members of staff.
  • Work collaboratively with Radiologists, Consultants and multidisciplinary teams to deliver excellent patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • HCPC Registered Radiographer.
  • BSc Diagnostic Radiography (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 2 years' MRI experience.
  • Experience working independently within MRI.
  • IV Cannulation competency.
  • Strong understanding of MRI safety and governance.
  • Cardiac MRI experience

  • General Radiography or Theatre Imaging experience.
  • Mammography experience.
  • Previous leadership, mentorship or supervisory experience.
