Senior Care Assistant
Senior Care Assistant – Stevenage, Letchworth & Hitchin
Hourly Rate: £15.50–£15.70 per hour + 40p per mile mileage + Fully Paid Travel Time
LOCATIONS: Stevenage, Letchworth, and Hitchin + surrounding areas AVAILABILITY: Must live within an 8-mile radius of Stevenage Availability for early mornings (from 7am), afternoons (from 2pm), and every other weekend
About the Role
Right at Home Stevenage, Bishop’s Stortford & Braintree is hiring an ambitious, caring Senior Care Assistant to join its growing team.
You’ll deliver high-quality home care, supporting adults to remain independent and comfortable in their own homes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mentoring & developing Care Assistants, including onboarding new staff
- Maintaining & updating Care Plans to ensure consistency
- Conducting CareGiver spot checks to evaluate standards
- Managing rotational on-call phone duties for emergencies
- Completing essential administrative tasks and reporting
- Building strong relationships with clients and care professionals
- Complying with policies and procedures, ensuring compliance

Essential:
- Full and valid UK or EU/EEA driving licence with access to your own vehicle
- Proven ability to work flexibly, including rotation on-call phone shifts
- Commitment to a 3-day training course
- Willingness to live locally to Stevenage, Letchworth, or Hitchin
Desirable (not mandatory):
- 12+ months’ hands-on care experience (retail, customer service, admin, cleaning, or warehouse roles welcome!)
- Work Towards or Hold Level 2 QCF/NVQ (Health & Social Care preferred)
- Clear, upbeat verbal and written communication
