Job Description
Location: Ilkeston Road

Do you have experience running shifts and administering medication? Are you passionate about providing high-quality, person-centred care?
We’re looking for caring, reliable, and enthusiastic individuals who go the extra mile for our residents. We currently have a vacancy at our Heanor Park Care Home working 35 hours a week over 5 shifts. This includes nights and must be flexible.
About The Role
As a Senior Care Assistant at Ashmere Care Homes, you’ll play a key leadership role within our friendly care team, ensuring residents receive the best possible support and that each shift runs smoothly and professionally. You’ll lead by example, showing compassion, respect, and dedication in everything you do.
Your main duties will include:
- Leading and supporting care staff
- Administering and recording medication
- Assisting residents with personal care and mealtimes
- Communicating effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
- Liaising with the Home Manager, GPs, and nurses

About The Company
At Ashmere, we’ve been supporting communities in Derbyshire for three generations with a proud heritage in elder care. Across our seven care homes, we deliver a full range of services including residential care, nursing, dementia support, complex continuing health care, and end-of-life care — even providing a dedicated household for Deaf and hard-of-hearing residents cared for by BSL-fluent staff. Skills Needed
Required Criteria:
- NVQ Level 2 in care
- NVQ Level 3 or working towards
Desired Criteria:
- NVQ Level 4
