Senior Care Assistant – Night Shift (33 hours per week)

About the Role

As a Senior Care Assistant at HC One, kindness will be at the core of everything you do—touching every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential, and Specialist Care Homes. Our residents are individuals with unique stories, and this role offers a fulfilling opportunity to make a real difference in their lives.

Key Details:

  • Hours: 33 hours per week, night shift only

What You’ll Do

You’ll lead a team of Care Assistants and deliver personalised, compassionate care to residents by:

  • Implementing care plans that foster security, dignity, and independence
  • Building trusting relationships with residents and their families
  • Supporting physical and mental stimulation through social/recreational activities
  • Assisting with medication administration as part of the wider care team
  • Ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining high standards of care
  • Collaborating with Registered Nurses and Care Managers
  • Providing end-of-life care with dignity and empathy
  • Meanwhile, demonstrating kindness in every interaction—from guiding someone with a walking aid to comforting a family over the phone.

Must-Haves

  • Essential soft skills: A positive, energetic attitude, excellent communication, psychological consideration, and strong teamwork.
  • Experience: Ideally, a Level 2 Diploma/SNVQ in Adult Social Care, with a commitment to progressing to a Level 3 qualification or equivalent.
  • Practice: Experience in person-centred care planning and supporting individuals with dementia.
