We are now looking for a Senior Care Assistant to join our caring team at Maple Court in Scarborough. If you are warm, energetic, creative, and love making a difference in people’s lives, this could be the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities
As our Senior Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in enriching the lives of our residents by:
- Ensuring the highest possible levels of care are maintained through supporting and assisting residents with all aspects of daily living.
- Supporting, supervising, and training junior or new staff members in all aspects of their work, under the guidance of senior colleagues.
- Providing assistance to residents with their physical, emotional, and spiritual care needs, ensuring they maintain comfort and dignity.
- Offering attentive support to residents with limited mobility, physical disabilities, or learning difficulties, utilising any aids available.
- Closely monitoring residents who may be confused or exhibiting behavioural challenges.
- Assisting with incontinence care and promoting continence.
- Providing care and support to residents with progressive illnesses, including assisting with end-of-life care and last offices.*
- Completing, reviewing, and updating care plans as required, recording daily observations and activities in line with company policies.
- Enhancing residents’ quality of life by facilitating social activities, encouraging hobbies, and promoting an engaging and inclusive environment.
- Responding to the nurse call system, greeting visitors appropriately, answering phones, and promptly relaying messages where necessary.
- Monitoring residents’ well-being and liaising with GPs, managers, and other supporting professionals.

Requirements
We are looking for someone who embodys the following qualities:

- A warm, friendly, and positive approach with great people skills.

- Creative, enthusiastic, and capable of motivating others.
- Passionate about enhancing the lives of older adults.
- Willing to work evenings and weekends when required.
- Previous experience in a similar care role is desirable, but not essential.
- NVQ Level 3 qualification in health and social care (or commitment to working towards this).
