Senior Care Assistant (Nights)

Location: Rastrick Hall & Grange, Lea Avenue, Rastrick

Job Type: Permanent, Full-time (38.5 hrs per week), including alternative weekends

Salary: £13.75 per hour

What You’ll Be Doing

As our Senior Care Assistant, you will play a crucial role in enhancing residents’ lives by:

  • Ensuring the highest possible care standards by supporting and assisting residents in all aspects of daily living where needed.
  • Supporting the training and supervision of junior and new colleagues across all duties within the home under senior staff guidance.
  • Providing personalised care for residents—including physical, emotional, and spiritual support—while ensuring dignity and comfort.
  • Offering specialist assistance to residents with limited mobility, physical or learning difficulties by ensuring appropriate aids are used effectively.
  • Monitoring closely residents who may be confused or exhibit challenging behaviours to maintain safety and well-being.
  • Promoting continence support for residents as required.
  • Facilitating end-of-life care assistance, including last offices, for residents with progressive illness.
  • Collaborating on care planning, completing daily records, and observing residents’ needs in line with company policies.
  • Engaging in social activities to encourage hobbies and help residents remain active and connected.
  • Operating the nurse call system efficiently, responding to resident demands, and managing door and telephone communication professionally.
  • Reporting on resident welfare and liaising with GPs, support managers, and other healthcare professionals as necessary.

  • Previous experience in a care role (or willingness to grow into the position).
  • NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or a commitment to working towards this).
