Senior Care Assistant

Senior Care Assistant – Oakbank Care Home, Crieff

Position Overview

  • Rate: £14.00–£14.50 per hour
  • Hours: 38.5 hours per week (contract)
  • Benefits:
    • Paid PVG scheme
    • Pension contribution
    • Uniform provided
    • 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rated for part-time)

Oakbank Care Home, a well-established residential, nursing, dementia, palliative, and respite care home in Crieff, offers a positive, supportive work environment where staff feel valued.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Lead, guide, and support your team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care daily.
  • Take ownership of shift organisation, ensuring consistent and high-standard care delivery.
  • Provide hands-on care, oversee medication administration, monitor well-being, and respond to any changes to maintain safety and appropriateness.
  • Handle accurate care record-keeping and collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals for continuity.

Key Requirements

  • Qualifications or Training:
    • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum)
    • Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care desirable or willingness to progress
    • Completed Medication Administration Training (compulsory)
  • Experience & Skills:
    • Experience in supporting and leading care teams
    • Strong communication and leadership skills
    • A caring, compassionate, and professional attitude
