Senior Care Assistant
Senior Care Assistant Contract – [Location: Church Lawton, Near Alsager]
£13.71 per hour 33 hours per week (Contract) Paid DBS, pension, uniform provided 5.6 weeks annual leave (pro-rated for part-time)
Role Overview
As a Senior Care Assistant, you will oversee, guide, and support your team to provide safe, high-quality, person-centred care for our 60 residents (covering Residential, Dementia, Nursing, and Respite Care).
Your responsibilities include:
- Managing shift operations, ensuring consistent, organised, and high-standard care delivery.
- Providing hands-on care, including medication support and wellbeing monitoring.
- Documenting accurate care records.
- Collaborating with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals for clear communication and continuity.
- Being available to work alternate weekends.

Key Responsibilities

Care Delivery & Supervision:
- Oversee daily care tasks, ensuring safety and professionalism.
- Monitor resident wellbeing and adapt care as needed.
- Implement and maintain accurate care documentation (electronic/handwritten records).

Team & Collaboration:
- Mentor junior staff, foster a supportive team culture.
- Work closely with nurses, therapists, and families for seamless care transitions.

Regulatory Compliance:
- Uphold health and safety standards and follow medication administration protocols.
- Assist with incident reporting and care plan updates.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Essential:
- NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum) – [Level 3 desirable or commitment to work towards it]
- Medication administration training with competency (mandatory).
- Proficiency in leading a care team (or willingness to take on senior responsibility).
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
