Senior Care Assistant Nights

Senior Care Assistant – Boclair Care Home, Glasgow

We are recruiting for an experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our prestigious luxury care facility in an affluent Glasgow suburb.

Salary & Benefits

  • £14.50 per hour
  • Contracted to 44 hours per week
  • Paid PVG check
  • Pension scheme
  • Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (full-time equivalent)

Role Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will lead and support your team in delivering safe, high-quality, person-centred care that makes a meaningful difference to our residents’ lives every day.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing and coordinating the smooth running of day-to-day care, ensuring consistency and high standards across shifts.
  • Providing hands-on care, including supporting daily living needs and specialised care for residents with Dementia and medical needs.
  • Administering medication safely, monitoring residents’ wellbeing, and responding promptly to any changes in health or behaviour.
  • Maintaining accurate care records and collaborating with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.

Responsibilities

  • Guide junior team members to deliver exemplary, resident-focused care.
  • Ensure all care practices adhere to health and safety policies and regulatory standards.
  • Report and address any concerns or incidents in line with home protocols.
  • Promote a supportive, inclusive, and compassionate environment for residents and staff.

What We Are Looking For

Qualifications & Experience

  • SVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum required), with Level 3 desirable or commitment to ascending to progress.
  • Medication administration training with competency – a mandatory requirement.
  • Experience in supporting or leading a care team is highly advantageous.
  • Previous experience in care home, dementia, or nursing environments is welcome.
