Senior Care Assistant

Senior Care Assistant Contract

Location: Bridgwater Salary: £13.50 per hour Hours: 24-48 hours per week (contracted) Package:

  • Paid DBS check
  • Pension
  • Uniform provided
  • 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on full-time contract)

Role Overview

As a Senior Care Assistant at Casa di Lusso Care Home, you will:

  • Guide and support your team to deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care, ensuring every day makes a real difference to our residents.
  • Take responsibility for the smooth running of your shift, organising and overseeing care to maintain consistent, high standards.
  • Provide hands-on care, oversee medication administration, and monitor residents’ wellbeing, responding to any changes and ensuring care remains safe and appropriate.
  • Maintain accurate care records and collaborate closely with colleagues, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure clear communication and continuity of care.
  • Work alternate weekends as part of the role.

Responsibilities

Leadership & Organisation

  • Supervise and mentor care team members
  • Oversee shift operations to meet comfort and safety standards
  • Organise and supply resources to maintain efficient care delivery

Direct Care

  • Administer prescribed medications with competency
  • perform person-centred observations and document changes
  • Provide emotional and physical support to residents

Communication & Collaboration

  • Maintain transparent and compassionate communication with colleagues, families, and external healthcare partners
  • Work within multi-disciplinary teams to ensure holistic resident support

Requirements

✔ Qualifications:

  • NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (minimum requirement)
  • Willingness to progress to Level 3 qualification (desirable)
  • Medication administration certification (essential, with demonstrated competency)

✔ Experience:

  • Experience supporting or leading a care team (advantageous)
  • Person-centred care philosophy preferred
