Senior Carpenter (Classification: PN 21186)

Employment Type: Full Time, Permanent Salary: $100,838 – $103,518 + 12.5% Super Allowances: Health Facilities $5,763.89, Tool $1,077.09 P.A. Location: Canberra Hospital Section: Facilities Management Closing Date: 14 July 2026

About the Role

Are you a qualified Carpenter seeking a rewarding opportunity? Canberra Health Services (CHS) seeks a Senior Carpenter to join our Facilities Management Team. This role involves performing reactive maintenance across The Canberra Hospital campus, including:

  • Prioritising repair and maintenance tasks
  • Investigating and diagnosing issues
  • Implementing effective, timely solutions

The Infrastructure and Health Support Services, Facilities Management Division oversees: ⇦ Planned and reactive maintenance ⇦ Asset management ⇦ Utilities management ⇦ Contract and lease administration for CHS’s property portfolio (ACT-wide)

As a Senior Carpenter, you will:

  • Demonstrate deep expertise and accountabilities of the trade
  • Collaborate across multiple CHS divisions
  • Provide outstanding leadership and professional communication
  • Work with agility, efficiency, and diplomacy—both independently and in complex teams
