About the Role
Co-op Wholesale is growing rapidly, and we’re looking for talented individuals who want to help shape its future. As a Senior Category Assistant in our Trading team, you will design robust processes and systems to ensure seamless, efficient, and high-performing operations across all categories.
Your focus? Optimising systems, streamlining workflows, and introducing innovations that deliver consistency, efficiency, and clarity to the team.
Why This Role Matters
Co-op Wholesale is expanding quickly, enhancing our service for retailers, key accounts, and corporate partners—and we need great people to drive this growth.
By maintaining accurate pricing and product data while introducing better ways of working, you’ll ensure our partners get the full value of our market-leading wholesale offer.
But this isn’t just a job—it’s a growth opportunity. As the line manager for Category Assistants, you’ll mentor, coach, and support your team, helping them develop skills and confidence while building a high-performing, forward-thinking team that consistently delivers for our partners.
What You’ll Do
- System Management:
- Oversee category administration in our ordering systems (e.g., promotions, offers, product descriptions).
- Ensure accurate loading of product promotions and commercial terms.

- Act as the go-to expert for category systems, helping colleagues use them efficiently.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
