Senior Category Insights Manager – 12 Month Contract

Commercial Strategy & Insights

Location: Wimbledon | Contract: 12 Months Work Schedule: 2-3 days per week in the office

Join Coty’s newly formed Commercial Strategy & Insights Function and play a pivotal role in shaping category growth across the UK market. This role combines data, strategy, and retailer engagement to unlock growth opportunities, influence decision-making, and solidify Coty’s standing as an indispensable partner to retailers.


The Role

Optimise, Enable, Innovate!

As Senior Category Insights Manager, you’ll transform shopper, category, and retailer data into actionable growth strategies, driving Coty’s performance across key accounts—both internally and with major retail partners.

This role reports to the Category Director and focuses on:

Category Strategy & Insights Leadership

  • Own category opportunity identification across range, assortment, layout, and shelf strategy
  • Translate internal, syndicated, EPOS, and retailer data into actionable insights
  • Develop category strategies and growth levers aligned with Coty’s commercial objectives
  • Lead SKU productivity analysis and portfolio optimization recommendations
  • Partner with Commercial Markets & Insights (CMI) to convert insights into tangible commercial actions

Retailer Partnership & Influence

  • Build strong relationships with retailer buyers, category leads, and senior stakeholders
  • Lead category storytelling and sell-in for innovation, range reviews, and space resets
  • Position Coty as a trusted and indispensable category partner
  • Support commercial negotiations with insight-led category rationale
  • Deliver impactful presentations to senior internal and external stakeholders

Cross-Functional Delivery & Execution

  • Lead internal ranging processes and align stakeholders on key priorities
  • Collaborate across Sales, Commercial Excellence, Brand, Marketing, and Category Teams
  • Drive implementation of category recommendations with retail partners
  • Support innovation benchmarking and category performance tracking
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output

You Are a Coty Fit

Coty seeks a data-driven category expert with strong commercial acumen who thrives in fast-paced, diverse environments. You’re collaborative, influential, and results-oriented, with the confidence to challenge and inspire stakeholders at all levels.

You will bring:

  • Proven experience in Category Management or Category Insights within FMCG (Beauty preferred)
  • Strong ability to interpret and commercialize multiple data sources, including EPOS, syndicated, and retailer data
  • Advanced Excel capabilities and high numeracy/analytical thinking
  • Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders (internally and externally)
  • Experience working with retailers, such as Boots, Superdrug, or grocery chains
  • Strong presentation and storytelling skills with customer-facing experience
  • Ability to link insights to financial metrics, P&L growth, and category KPIs
  • Proven track record managing cross-functional projects in a high-tempo environment
