Senior Category Insights Manager – 12 Months Contract
Commercial Strategy & Insights Wimbledon - 2 to 3 days per week in-office
Join Coty’s newly formed Commercial Strategy & Insights function and play a pivotal role in shaping category growth across the UK market. This role combines data, strategy and retailer engagement to unlock growth opportunities, influence decision-making, and strengthen Coty’s position as an indispensable partner to retailers.
About the Role

As our Senior Category Insights Manager, you will translate shopper, category, and retailer data into actionable growth strategies that drive Coty’s performance across key accounts—engaging both internal stakeholders and major retail partners.
You will report to the Category Director and manage:
Category Strategy & Insights Leadership
- Own category opportunity identification across range, assortment, layout, and shelf strategy
- Translate internal, syndicated, EPOS, and retailer data into actionable insights
- Develop category strategies and growth levers aligned to Coty’s commercial objectives
- Lead SKU productivity analysis and deliver portfolio optimization recommendations
- Partner with Commercial Marketing & Insights (CMI) to convert insights into tangible commercial actions
Retailer Partnership & Influence
- Build strong relationships with retailer buyers, category leads, and senior stakeholders
- Lead category storytelling and sell-in for innovation, range reviews, and space resets
- Position Coty as a trusted and indispensable category partner
- Support commercial negotiations with insight-led category rationale
- Deliver impactful presentations to senior internal and external audiences

Cross-Functional Delivery & Execution
- Lead internal ranging processes and align stakeholders on key priorities
- Collaborate across Sales, Commercial Excellence, Brand, Marketing, and Category teams
- Drive implementation of category recommendations across retail partners
- Support innovation benchmarking and category performance tracking
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality output
You Are a Coty Fit
As a data-driven category expert with strong commercial acumen, you thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. You are influential, innovative, and results-oriented, with the confidence to challenge and inspire stakeholders at all levels.
Requirements
- Proven experience in Category Management or Category Insights within FMCG (Beauty preferred)
- Strong ability to interpret and commercialize multiple data sources (EPOS, syndicated, retailer data)
- Advanced Excel skills and high level of numeracy and analytical thinking
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally
- Experience working with retailers (e.g., Boots, Superdrug, Grocery, or similar)
- Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with customer-facing exposure
- Ability to link insights to financial metrics, P&L growth, and category KPIs
- Proven experience managing cross-functional projects in a fast-paced environment
