Senior Category Manager
High-Impact Procurement Strategist (HR & Professional Services) – OneAdvanced
Join OneAdvanced in an urgent, hybrid role within our [Mailbox, Birmingham] office (2–3 days per week).
Deliver strategic procurement leadership across HR and Professional Services, shaping a growing function with impact.
About the Role
This is a fast-growth opportunity to take ownership of key procurement categories, collaborating closely with senior leaders. You’ll drive cost efficiency, supplier excellence, and value creation while fostering a data-driven, future-focused procurement approach.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Category Ownership
- Develop and execute category strategies for HR and Professional Services to optimise commercial value and operational efficiency
- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including negotiations of complex redactboards, contractual terms, compliance requirements, remuneration bands, and implementation plans
Complete Supplier Lifecycle Management
- Select, onboard, and manage suppliers with rigorous due diligence
- Track and monitor supplier performance, risk, and compliance
- Negotiate agreement scope and costs to prevent scope creep while ensuring delivery quality
Stakeholder Partnership & Transformation
- Collaborate with HR, Finance, Legal, and Professional Services teams to embed procurement excellence
- Influence stakeholders to balance cost savings, risk mitigation, and business needs
- Support *technology implementation and outsourced service delivery projects

Process Innovation
- Contribute to procedures, tools, and policy frameworks as procurement matures
- Champion a proactive, evidence-based approach to decision-making
Elevate Assisted HR Operations
- Procure solutions aligned with assisted HR needs
- Ensure procurement supports efficient, positive employee experiences
Strategic Initiatives
- Drive projects such as Cybersecurity, digital workplace platforms, UIELS contracts, and financial services procurement
Requirements
Essential:
📌 Senior procurement experience (3+ years minimum) 📌 Expertise in supplier procurement directly relating to HR, HR Technology, or Professional Services categories (e.g. outsourcing, SaaS contracts, recruiting, health, wellbeing, pensions) 📌 Experience negotiating complex contracts and clauses (e.g. SOUs/IfAs, SLAs, pensions schemes, disability support, self-insurance) 📌 Influential leadership with stakeholders at all levels 📌 Commercial acumen in managing cost, risk, and quality 📌 Resilience, adaptability, and business critical mindset
Desirable:
✔ Understanding of assisted HR systems, employment law, or ethical responsibility schemes ✔ Except consumer marketing, relevant prior tech environment experience
