Would you be excited to play a key role in the delivery of a framework agreement at the cutting edge of Artificial Intelligence technology?

If so and you have experience managing public sector agreements, ideally with Procurement Act 2023 knowledge, then we have an opportunity for you!

Here at NHS Shared Business Service, we are running a tender for our Healthcare AI Solutions (HC AI) Framework. This framework is at the cutting edge of products and services from suppliers in the market who are participating for the opportunity to provide their goods nationally across the NHS and healthcare sectors. Your role will be to lead the procurement through the critical stages of tender activity and then manage the onboarding and go-live activities. You may also get a chance to play a pivotal role in supporting the marketing and promotion of the framework; aligning this with the needs of the NHS and promoting increased digitisation and innovation across the NHS and wider public sector.

As a Senior Category Manager (FTC) at NHS SBS you will also lead a high performing team and take on the sub-category responsibilities within the Digital and IT portfolio – under the Digital Applications & Services (DAS) sub-team alongside the Head of Category. This includes providing leadership to a dynamic and experienced team; and providing leadership and direction on a host of new and existing framework agreements and projects in the pipeline.

As a Great Place to Work® certified organisation, we recognise the importance of flexibility in maintaining a healthy work-life balance. This position is predominantly remote, with bimonthly team gatherings held at our Salford office and occasional trips for conferences or site visits as needed.

What you will be doing:

  • Be responsible for the management of the HC AI tender ensuring successful completion of all procurement activities; governance, stakeholder management, and go-live activities
  • Providing leadership and support for the team alongside the Head of Category for Digital & IT
  • Managing a portfolio of projects. Working closely with key stakeholders to influence procurement choice and drives savings and efficiencies and improve quality.
  • Offering procurement support to the customer Service Directorates, Heads of Procurement and Key Leaders on a national footprint.
  • Negotiating with the supplier base ensuring that all aspects are covered within the category from a product, service and stakeholder basis.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
