Senior Category Manager

This Senior Category Manager role in London is all about shaping category strategies and driving growth. You'll be working closely with national grocers to deliver insights and strategies that help the ambient business thrive.

Description

  • Develop and implement category strategies to drive business growth and meet objectives.
  • Analyse market trends, consumer behaviour, and sales data to identify opportunities and challenges.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing and sales, to ensure alignment on category plans.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to influence category performance.
  • Line manage one direct report.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide actionable insights to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Prepare and present category reviews and recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support the development of promotional activities and pricing strategies to maximise profitability.
  • Continuously evaluate category performance and adjust strategies as needed.

Profile

A successful Senior Category Manager should have:

  • A background in buying, category management or sales from within FMCG.
  • Experience working with national retailers.
  • Experience managing people preferable but not essential.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and provide actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills for engaging with stakeholders at various levels.
  • A solid understanding of market trends and consumer behaviour within the FMCG sector.
  • Proficiency in category management tools and software.
  • A strategic mindset with a focus on achieving business objectives.
  • Able to be in a London office 5 days a week.
