The Role: CFD Engineer & Discipline Lead
This multi-faceted position blends technical execution with client-facing engagement, ensuring you contribute to high-impact energy solutions while acting as both a domain expert and a project supervisor. You’ll bridge engineering studies with commercial outcomes, consistently delivering CFD assessments in compliance with client expectations.
Main Activities:
- Conduct front-end conceptual studies, detailed design evaluations, operational support assessments, and decommissioning analyses across projects.
- Perform CFD simulations aligned with client standards and technical requirements—executing workflows for proprietary software (e.g., CFX) or bespoke in-house tools.
- Communicate findings through:
- Structured technical reports featuring thorough calculations.
- Clear and engaging presentations to clients and stakeholders.
- Interactive collaborations within multi-disciplinary teams and industry working groups.
- Lead or actively support CFD content in proposals and client-facing discussions, representing Genesis Energies as a partners.

Job Purpose
Your role encompasses these strategic accountability areas:
- Lead and coordinate CFD studies across multi-disciplinary technical projects, ensuring specialized accuracy and overall technical robustness.
- Act as the owner of CFD discipline outcomes, overseeing scope adherence, methodology refinement, and knowledge sharing.
- Support the bid/win efforts of Genesis, including CFD proposal development for new business opportunities.
Key Accountabilities:

Core Technical Execution:
- Execute CFD simulations (using proprietary software like CFX or in-house tools) and contribute to engineering studies.
- Perform thermodynamic evaluations of fluid properties and phase behavior to assess design impacts.
- Prepare technical notes summarizing study results for documentation and client review.
- Present findings to clients, and anticipate technical questions in business discussions.

Project Leadership and Scope Management:
- Direct disciplinary personnel assigned to projects, ensuring adherence to scope of work (SoW), design basis, philosophies, standards, procedures, and QA/QC requirements.
- Hold accountability for the content and quality of all discipline-specific documentation.
- Participate actively in the development, review, and approval of technical documents, specifications, and project procedures.

Business Engagement:
- Proactively contribute to market development, including crafting proposals and supporting business strategies where relevant.
- Attend client meetings, industry fora, and networking events to showcase expertise.
- Adjust priorities as needed to respond to client requests and enhance service offerings.

Mobility and Flexibility:
- Willingness to travel internationally to client sites or support project activities, aligning with business needs.

Required Qualifications & Experience
To excel in this role, you will demonstrate:
Professional & Academic Credentials:
- A relevant engineering degree (Master’s or Bachelor’s) with equivalent industry experience recognized.
- A **recognizable track record in the upstream **oil & gas industry.
Technical Proficiency:
- Hands-on expertise in CFD studies, particularly with ANSYS CFX or equivalent industrial-grade simulation tools.
- Deep understanding of thermodynamics, phase behavior, and their impact on oil & gas facility design.
- Comprehensive knowledge of:
- Design considerations for oil & gas processing units (e.g., separators, exchangers).
- Utility systems and support network engineering (e.g., cooling towers, compressors).
- Steady-state and dynamic modeling of process plants and their efficiency.
- Ability to profile, quantify, and mitigate uncertainties affecting production system performance.
Soft Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint), with an emphasis on meticulous documentation.
- Excellent command of English for technical writing and verbal communication, essential in client interactions.
- Strong leadership within discipline teams, balancing technical guidance, workflow oversight, and conflict resolution.
- Analytical problem-solving: Proactive mindset to identify industry trends and driving solutions in energy transitions.
