Senior Chef – New Elmcroft, Care Home (Shaw Healthcare)
Location: Shoreham-by-Sea, near Brighton & Worthing Salary: £18.69 per hour Hours: 35 hrs per week (4-week rotating shift pattern) Shift Times: 8:00AM – 5:15PM (including weekends)
About the Role
Shaw Healthcare is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Chef to join New Elmcroft, a 60-bed en-suite care home specialising in nursing, dementia, residential and respite care. Located in a quiet residential setting near Shoreham-by-Sea, the facility prioritises delivering high-quality, fresh, home-cooked meals in a supportive and compassionate environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Home Manager, Nutritional Therapist and staff to ensure high-standard, fresh, daily meals are provided for residents and their needs are met.
- Establish strong relationships with residents’ families to accommodate cultural and dietary requirements.
- Daily duties:
- Prepare, cook, and serve meals to residents and staff on time.
- Adapt menus to cater for celebrations, special occasions, and resident preferences.
- Order supplies within budget and operational policies, using approved suppliers.
- Maintain accurate catering records in line with HACCP guidelines.
- Participate in regulatory inspections by Environmental Health/social care enforcers.
- Maintain strict hygiene standards (HACCP & COSHH compliance).
- Promote a safe & healthy working environment (Health & Safety, Welfare policies).
- Manage the Catering Team efficiently.
