Soho House – Senior Chef de Partie

At Soho House, a Senior Chef de Partie supports the kitchen brigade in delivering exceptional dining experiences to our members and guests. You will be instrumental in preparing, cooking, and presenting exceptional dishes in line with the club’s food philosophy.

Your main responsibility is to:

  • Demonstrate technical expertise
  • Show a strong understanding of kitchen operations
  • Display a proactive attitude towards training, hygiene, and consistency

You will contribute to menu development, ensure compliance with allergy procedures and dietary requirements, and act as a role model to more junior kitchen staff.

Key Duties

  • Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section with the highest standards in quality, consistency, and presentation.
  • Support the Sous Chef and Head Chef in delivering efficient, well-organised service during busy periods and events.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, allergies, hygiene, and health standards, including HACCP and company policies.
  • Take ownership of mise en place and prep tasks, ensuring quality readiness for service.
  • Assist in training and mentoring Commis Chefs and Demi Chefs de Partie, developing their technical skills.
  • Attend regular meetings with front and back-of-house teams to learn about menu/special service changes and conduct daily tastings.
  • Assist with team meal preparation, considering dietary needs and variety.
  • Maintain a proactive approach towards learning, teamwork, and improvement.
  • Emphasise deep cleaning of the entire kitchen before close.
  • Properly wrap unused items and store them correctly post-service.

Requirements

A successful Senior Chef de Partie for Soho House will ideally have:

  • Up to 2 years' experience in a busy, high-profile commercial kitchen.
  • Natural flair for exceptional service.
  • Reliability, friendliness, and enthusiasm to lead the team towards success.

Minimum requirements:

  • 2+ years' experience in a similar role.
  • Passion for food, attention to detail, and a strong desire to learn and grow.
  • Understanding of basic food safety and hygiene practices.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Proactive, respectful attitude suitable for a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Culinary qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 1 or 2) would be beneficial—though not mandatory.
  • Willingness to follow directions, work collaboratively, and operate independently.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts and schedules, including weekends and holidays as required.
  • Demonstrated competency through training schedules and participation in the Club School programme.

Salary Range (UK)

  • £17.50—£17.50 GBP (Note: Pay ranges may vary by location.)
