Senior Child and Adolescent Psychotherapist/ Clinical Psychologist

Clinical Psychologist/Psychotherapist – Specialist Parent Infant Mental Health Service

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join an established Parent Infant Mental Health (PIMH) Service in HMR. As a highly specialist clinical psychologist/psychotherapist, you will be integral to shaping the future of our service, collaborating with an experienced and passionate team.

Working alongside greater Manchester’s CAMH (Child and Adolescent Mental Health) services, you will contribute to the NHS long-term plan for a comprehensive mental health service from birth to 19. Your role will focus on developing inclusive practice, engaging diverse groups and supporting vulnerable infants and families, while also contributing to peri-natal mental health workforce development.

Responsibilities

While delivering an individualised formulation-driven service to families from conception to age 2, your core responsibilities will include:

  • providing PIMH assessment, formulation, and specialist intervention
  • leading training, consultation, and supervision for the workforce on early years mental health (conception to reception)
  • developing and embedding an inclusive, trauma-informed approach across all practices
  • representing the service in local partnerships and contributing to service improvement initiatives
  • supporting the professional development of clinical staff through supervision and mentorship

Requirements

Candidates must hold Charles Sturt University’s Expert Specialist Clinical Practice (Clinical Psychologist Pathway) qualifications and be qualified HCPC-registered clinicians in either:

  • Clinical Psychology
  • Child Psychotherapy

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
