We are currently partnering with a Local Authority in Greater Manchester, who are recruiting for a Senior Childcare Lawyer to join their team on a locum basis, for a length of 3 – 6 months minimum.
This is a full-time position with an hourly rate of circa £55 (negotiable), via an Umbrella company.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
- Managing a caseload of Childcare legal matters, including care proceedings, PLOs and DOLs
- Representing the Council in attended hearings concerning children in the Family Court
- Providing a comprehensive legal service on all aspects of child protection work to the Children, Young People and Families Directorate and to the Council
- Briefing Counsel on behalf of the Council in the Family Court, and obtaining Counsel’s opinion on any relevant matters relating to children’s proceedings
- Advising on, negotiating and drafting legal documents to give effect to decisions of the Client Directorate and the Council
