Senior Children's Residential Support Worker

Shift Leader – Children’s Homes | £36,231 - £40,640 (including benefits)

About the Role

Those huge small victories

Working in our Children’s Homes means being a part of a young person’s day-to-day life. You’ll witness and celebrate the highest highs and lowest lows, enabling young people to reclaim their childhood while creating pathways to becoming well-rounded adults—an incredibly rewarding journey.

Our homes support young people with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH), and our Shift Leaders play a vital role in creating positive outcomes. While challenges arise, it’s those small victories along the way that make every moment meaningful.

Get out what you put in

As a Shift Leader, you’ll be the daily anchor for our young people, ensuring routines, connections, and safe, nurturing spaces. You’ll lead a team, maintain operational excellence, and step in as a deputised Team Leader when needed.

Key strengths we seek:

  • A relatable, relationship-driven approach – someone who can connect deeply with young people.
  • Compassion, resilience, and empathy – essential when working with complex needs.
  • Leadership that inspires – you’ll motivate and support your team while upholding high standards of care.

This isn’t just a job; it’s about making a real, lasting difference in young lives.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
