Senior Childrens Residential Support Worker

Department: Residential

Location: Hickory House - Sheffield

Compensation: £35,848 - £38,028 / year (£13.80–£14.85/hour, plus £60/sleep night)

Job Description

Hours:

  • Full-time, 2 days on / 4 days off (balanced rota)
  • 365-day service (service operates continuously, with advanced rota planning)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide outstanding childcare and therapeutic support to young people in a residential therapeutic setting
  • Create a homely, nurturing environment that fosters personalised growth and development
  • Fight daily operational tasks (domestic care, education planning, social interaction support)
  • Help young people excel through personalised education plans and enriching experiences (excursions, activities)
  • Work closely in a team-focused approach with mentors and managers

Our dual-home setting in Sheffield provides a warm, homely environment for two young people requiring therapeutic placements.

Key Requirements

Essential: ✔ 12+ months experience in a Children’s Residential Care Home ✔ Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) ✔ In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations, expectations and best practice ✔ Full UK driving licence ✔ Must have unrestricted right-to-work status in the UK ✔ Therapeutic, person-centred values—aligned with Esland’s approaches ✔ Minimum age: 21 years old
