Senior Residential Support Worker – Children’s Home

Department: Residential Location: Snowdrop House, Huddersfield Compensation: £34,408 – £37,834 per year

About the Role

Snowdrop House is a solo EBD (Emotionally Based Disturbed) home, providing our young person a safe, caring and structured home environment.

As a Senior Support Worker, you’ll play a key part in the running of the home and in meeting the needs of your young person.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Building strong, trust-based relationships with children, families, and professionals
  • Supporting care plans and helping young people achieve their goals
  • Acting as a role model and supervising junior team members on shift
  • Ensuring a safe, clean, and positive home environment for everyone
  • Encouraging learning, development, and independence for every child
  • Maintaining accurate and professional records

Requirements

As a candidate, you must meet the following criteria:

  • A minimum of 12 months experience in residential childcare
  • A Level 3 Diploma (or above) in Residential Childcare (or an equivalent qualification)
  • A full UK driving licence (essential for transporting young people and attending meetings)
  • A calm, resilient, and compassionate approach to care
  • Availability to work shift patterns, including overnight/sleep-ins (e.g. a 2-on, 4-off rotation)
  • The right to work in the UK
  • Completion of a successful Full Enhanced Disclosure, right to work check, and professional reference compliance ( čovider costs covered by Esland).
